Dendritic Agate, Hematite in Quartz and Red Sapphire Tangled Vines Ring. Size 7.
I rarely use red stones in my work, so when I came across this little quartz with hematite inclusions I was pretty thrilled (these stones are also known as lepidocrosite). I've held onto it for several years waiting for the right piece. Combining it with this delicately branching dendritic agate just seemed perfect! I added a red/orange sapphire for a little punch and I had the making of one of my tangled vines rings.
Each stone is wrapped in 22k gold and set on one of my swirled bands in deeply oxidized silver. Delicate sprout accents and a few gold dots complete this one-of-a-kind ring.
The ring measure 7 1/2 on a mandrel but due to the width fits more like a 7. Though wide, these rings are comfortable due to the open framework of "swirled" wires.
