A stunning gem silica is set in argentium sterling silver on one of my swirled bands that measures US size 5 1/2.
Argentium sterling silver is a silver alloy where most of the copper has been replaced by germanium which lends greatly enhanced tarnish resistance over standard sterling. It is .935 silver--more pure silver than .925 sterling. In addition, argentium sterling is produced using only recycled silver.

I set it in 22k gold on a base of sterling silver that has been oxidized do a rich black. At the base I set a cluster of amethyst and whiskey quartz on 14k gold headpins. Really special...
