Lustrous white freshwater pearls wrapped in gold fill wire have a cluster of black spinel on 14k solid gold headpins. Earwires are quality gold fill. These earrings measure about 1 inch long and half an inch wide.
When I still had my garden in Connecticut, I was always in search of strong, blue flowers. Often they veered towards purple or violet rather than a true blue. When I am at my work bench I can create the garden of my dreams and these lapis lazuli flower earrings are a standout. The bold and unmistakable royal blue of these lapis "petals" is enhanced when I weave them with gold fill wire to form delicate blooms. At the center of each flower I placed three tiny white freshwater pearls on solid 14k gold headpins.
These earrings measure just under an inch in length and half an inch in width.
I use solid gold for the headpins as I don't think the gold vermeil headpins hold up. The gold fill wire used to weave the earrings as well as for the ear wires should stand up for years and years with minimal care. The term gold filled is a bit misleading--the wire is not "filled" with gold. Rather a layer of 14 karat gold is heat or pressure bonded to a core of brass. It is a much thicker layer of gold than that used in plated jewelry. Store the earrings in plastic bags to protect from scratches as well as excess moisture in the air. Don't shower or swim with your jewelry on. You can enjoy the rich warmth of gold for a fraction of the cost.
A flower of polished kyanite, swiss blue topaz and faceted sky blue topaz is securely woven to an earwire frame of argentium sterling silver. The earrings measure 7/8 of an inch long by 5/8 of an inch at the widest point. Vibrant color--light and easy to wear!
These ocean jasper feature a gorgeous display of blue and greens with spherical inclusions at different depths in the stones. I've set them in argentium sterling silver and added a cluster of swiss blue topaz, tsavorite garnet and emerald at the base. The posts are silver and are secured with a friction-style silver earnut encased in silicone for stability and comfort.
The earrings are 7/8 of an inch long and 1/2 an inch wide.
About Argentium Silver Argentium sterling silver is a silver alloy where most of the copper has been replaced by germanium which lends greatly enhanced tarnish resistance over standard sterling. It is .935 silver--more pure silver than .925 sterling. In addition, argentium sterling is produced using only recycled silver.
A gemstone garden dangling from your ears! One flower each of pink tourmaline, pink sapphire and rhodolite garnet are woven with argentium sterling silver wire and linked together to form these long, swinging, floral earrings. They measure 2 1/8 inches and are light and easy.
