Welcome! Here you'll find a limited edition collection of romantic, gem-wrapped jewelry in unique arrangements and organic themes. My work takes a sculptural approach to crafting flowers, vines and other natural objects with gemstones, pearls and wire. I also create a unique line of bezel set stones fringed in wire wrapped gems.
Perfect sky blue faceted topaz petals create a sweet flower. I wove them with argentium sterling silver wire and added a cluster of tiny white freshwater pearls at the center. This flower measure 5/8 of an inch in diameter and suspends from an argentium sterling silver chain that is adjustable from 16 to 18 inches.
Argentium sterling silver is a silver alloy where most of the copper has been replaced by germanium which lends greatly enhanced tarnish resistance over standard sterling. It is .935 silver--more pure silver than .925 sterling. In addition, argentium sterling is produced using only recycled silver.
When your jewelry arrives **************************** It will arrive carefully presented in a jewelry pouch I sewed myself (!) which is great for gift giving or storing your jewelry at home.
I haven't created one of my gem weave pendants in a bit. This one features rich jewel tone colors and mixed metals. I wove beer quartz, amethyst, garnet and rhodolite garnet with gold fill wire and secured it to a chain of oxidized sterling silver for dramatic contrast. I've also created this stone combination with a gold fill chain.
When I still had my garden in Connecticut, I was always in search of strong, blue flowers. Often they veered towards purple or violet rather than a true blue. When I am at my work bench I can create the garden of my dreams and these lapis lazuli flower earrings are a standout. The bold and unmistakable royal blue of these lapis "petals" is enhanced when I weave them with gold fill wire to form delicate blooms. At the center of each flower I placed three tiny white freshwater pearls on solid 14k gold headpins.
These earrings measure just under an inch in length and half an inch in width.
I use solid gold for the headpins as I don't think the gold vermeil headpins hold up. The gold fill wire used to weave the earrings as well as for the ear wires should stand up for years and years with minimal care. The term gold filled is a bit misleading--the wire is not "filled" with gold. Rather a layer of 14 karat gold is heat or pressure bonded to a core of brass. It is a much thicker layer of gold than that used in plated jewelry. Store the earrings in plastic bags to protect from scratches as well as excess moisture in the air. Don't shower or swim with your jewelry on. You can enjoy the rich warmth of gold for a fraction of the cost.
This ring is a fun play on geometric shapes that is softened by the fringe of small stones. I set a peanut jasper in 22k yellow gold on a baseplate of sterling silver that has been oxidized to near black. I added some 18k gold wire semi-circle accents and a lush cluster of labradorite and brown tourmaline. The ring measures a size 6 on a medium width band.
It will arrive gorgeously presented in one of my handmade jewelry pouches--a little extra special something!
