SOLD. Queensland Pipe Opal Ring with Gemstone Fringe. Size 8.
This opal is so pretty!
Waves of shimmering aqua, green, pink, mandarin and lilac sweep through this solid pipe opal from Queensland Australia--6.9 carats. I've wrapped the opal in the gleaming warmth of 22k gold--so rich. This opal deserves nothing less--right? I then set the opal on a base of 22k gold/silver bimetal (see the description below). At the base of the opal I wrapped gemstone beads in 14k gold to create a lush fringe--pink sapphire, mandarin garnet, tsavorite garnet, sky blue topaz and swiss blue topaz.
The 1/8" wide band is 22k gold/silver bimetal as well. It measures a US size 8.
Can't you imagine wearing this ring and getting lost in the color as you roll your hand back and forth? You will get loads of admiration from those around you as well!
Take a look and zoom in on all of the photos--this is really something special.
_________________ *Bimetal features a layer of high-karat 22-karat yellow gold pressure-bonded to a layer of bright Argentium® Silver. The gold constitutes a full 10% of the overall weight and the Argentium constitutes the remaining 90%. The front of the piece shows the gold layer and the back is silver. This is a cost-efficient way to achieve the warm look of gold jewelry.
About Argentium Silver Argentium sterling silver is a silver alloy where most of the copper has been replaced by germanium which lends greatly enhanced tarnish resistance over standard sterling. It is .935 silver--more pure silver than .925 sterling. In addition, argentium sterling is produced using only recycled silver.
